Beverly Haynes Cobb, 88 years old, passed away surrounded by her children and grandchildren on May 8, 2024, following a brief illness.
Beverly was born in Selmer, Tennessee but spent her high school years in Tupelo, Mississippi where she was involved in many activities and was deemed a “beauty” by vote. She then attended business school in Memphis, Tennessee.
Tupelo is where she met and married the love of her life, John T. Cobb. After the pair traveled around the Midwest with the United States Air Force and Hancock Fabrics, they eventually settled in Roswell, Georgia, and there, they called home. Beverly worked as an Administrative Assistant in the insurance industry for many years. Upon her retirement, she spent her days with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, where she found the most joy and fulfillment growing an everlasting bond.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Sonya Haynes Reed; her daughters, Lisa Dobbs and Susie Frost; grandchildren, Emily (Dallas), Courtney (Ian), Eric (Maddie), Ashley, Ansley (Alex); great-grandchildren, Carter, Amelia, Gavin, Gabe, Kayson and Indie; sister-in-law, Allayne (Ken) Lavalley; and many nieces and nephews; as well as their children who she adored.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John T. Cobb, her parents, C.E. Haynes and Elizabeth Mckenzie Haynes; her in-laws, John T. and Brownie Cobb; her sister, Joan Kendall; brother-in-law, Shelby Reed II; nephew, Scott Long, sister-in-law, Betty Cobb Long; and son-in-law, Scott Dobbs.
Beverly’s profound faith in Christ while alive gives her family peace and comfort knowing she has found her eternal resting place in Heaven alongside God and surrounded by so many loved ones.
Graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Tupelo Memorial Park. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements.
