Beverly Bontá Gaines, age 66 of Decherd, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on August 4, 1954 to the late Paul Leonard Hall and Doris Christine (Rollins) Tate. She retired from Del-Met Manufacturing, but had been previously employed by Decherd Franklin, Lanier, and Wisco Envelope. When she was young, Bontá joined Calvary Baptist Church in Winchester. She enjoyed working outside, fishing, and dancing, and was a wonderful cook…everyone loved her fried corn, buttermilk pie, and cornbread. Bontá had a huge heart, was outgoing and friendly, and enjoyed the long conversations she had with those she loved. But most of all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley “Buster” Gaines; and brother, Ricky Dale Hall. Bontá is survived by her loving daughter, Christie (Gary) Greeson of Winchester; grandchildren, Blake Faulkner, Grant Faulkner, Justin (Jess) Greeson, Maecey (Wade) Pearson, Cammie Greeson, and Jonathan Martin; sister, Paulette (Dan) Davis of Rossville, Georgia; brother, Thomas Wayne Hall (Pam St. Clair) of Estill Springs; step-mother, Deola Hall of Decherd; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Ellis Goodman of Decherd. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Matt Hastings officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Garner Cemetery with Blake Faulkner, Grant Faulkner, Philip Custer, Justin Greeson, Wade Pearson, and Jonathan Martin serving as pallbearers.
