bevAfter a courageous 10-month battle with leukemia, Beverly “Bev” Bailey Bullough, age 56, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016. Throughout her illness, she remained firm in her faith, true to her character, and never once complained. She had the heart of a servant and always put the needs of family and friends before her own. Most of all, her “three boys” brought her endless joy, and she smiled radiantly when speaking of them.

Bev cultivated many special friendships throughout her years serving in numerous areas of children’s ministry at Woodmont Baptist Church. Her favorite pastimes included tennis, antiquing, cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Many of these friendships were the source of great laughter, lasting memories, and wonderful support along this journey.

Her family will receive friends Sunday, March 6, 12-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the chapel with Dr. Eddy Garner officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her mom, Marie Bailey; grandparents, John and Annie Lee Nichols; and Felix and Mary Bailey.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Bullough; children, Andrew Bullough; Alex Bullough (Pam Scheske); dad, Eddy Bailey; sister, Debra Simmons and husband, Mike; brother, Chris Bailey and wife, Cindy; father and mother-in-law, Dr. Vaughn and Jewel Bullough; niece, Kelly Simmons (Quinton Horner); nephews, Brad Simmons (Jamie, Corinne, Riley Jo, and Jonathan), and Chase Bailey, as well as a host of extended family.

Pallbearers will be Randy Wilson, Jess Wilson, Sam Wilson, Ron Smith, Rick Lansdell, Bryan Grissom, and Kevin Grissom.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
