Bettye June Fox Wilt, born on June 13, 1931, passed away on February 3, 2023, at the age of 91 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee
Bettye was born on June 13, 1931 in Bethel, Tennessee to the late Reese Fox and Lela Potts Fox.
Bettye was a devoted homemaker and a skilled gardener, farmer and canner. She was also a passionate reader and a fan of the soap opera “Days of our Lives.”
In her school days, Bettye started off at Bethel Elementary Schooll. She then went Santa Fe High School, were Bettye was a cheerleader and salutatorian. After high school, she went on to school at Columbia Business School. She was also a talented horseback rider, showing several horses and ponies in Bethel. Bettye was also of methodist faith and attended Theta Methodist Church.
Bettye was a talented seamstress and she made clothes and outfits for her children.
Bettye will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Bettye is survived by her brother Larry Fox, her daughter Sandra Sewell, son Tony Wilt and daughter Jennifer Sisk, as well as her grandchildren Paula Thompson, Drew Sisk and Samantha Sisk, and great-grandchildren Anthony Thompson and Catherine Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Wilt, daughter Felicia Wilt, sister Rita Warf, brother Robert Fox, father Reese Fox, and mother Lela Potts Fox.
Pallbearers will be Drew Sisk, Danny Fox, Mike Warf, Ricky Warf, Jeff Fox and Tim Fox.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Boatright, Lennie Boatright, Brian Boatright, Aile Scott, Sheryl Rainey, Reece Robertson, and Jason Burns.
A service for Bettye will be Monday, February 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with Barry Hampton and Ronnie Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at 12:00 PM to the start of the service at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Bettye will be laid to rest at Santa Fe Cemetery.
