Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Betty Wood will be 3pm Tuesday December 17, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Magnolia Gardens. Visitation will occur from 12pm until service time at the funeral home.
Betty passed away on December 14,2024 at her residence. She was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on September 6,1938 to the late Horce and Inez Rowsey. Betty was employed with Corinth Manufacturing where she worked as a seamstress. Betty was a faithful member of Community Free Will Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending services. Betty also enjoyed reading, attending auctions, and spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Wood, sisters, Sybil Matlock, and Elaine Ayers; and the father of her children Don Modlin.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Modlin (Janie), Dennis Modlin (Diane), Neal Modlin (Rhonda), and Garry Modlin (Jamie); daughter, Vivian De Paul (Ross); brother, Garry Rowsey (Ruth); 15 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers include Dustin Modlin, Chris Modlin, Brian Modlin, Alex DePaul, Michael Modlin, and David Modlin. Honorary Pallbearers include Matt Johnson and Justin Powers.
