Funeral service for Betty Viola Martin, 83, of Decatur, will be Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 2:00PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Berry officiating. The Family will receive friends from 12:30PM to 2:00PM prior to the service. Interment will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Martin died Thursday, November 9, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 9, 1940 to the late James Lemley and Imagard Slager in Michigan.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William Simpson McKee Martin, and daughter, Tishamingo Martin, three brothers, Darryl Lemley, W.A. Brown, Bill Slager, four sisters, Betsy Slager, Tootie Herron, Beverly Steelman, and Sandra McLaughlin.
She is survived by her son, Jace Martin (Margaret) of Nashville, TN, one daughter, Teresamingo Martin Gamble of Decatur, AL, four grandchildren, Brittany Fontaine (Jason) and Morgan Gamble of Decatur, AL, Dale Martin and Matt Martin of Nashville, TN, twelve great grandchildren, three sisters, Cindy Robinson (Randy), Becky Ergle, and May Sparkman (Andy).
