bettyMrs. Betty Strange Stricklend, 84 of Eddy Scant City Road, Arab, died Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Crestwood Medical Center, Huntsville. Service will be at noon on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church Arab with Bro. Steve West officiating. Interment will at 2:00 p.m. in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Boaz. McRae Funeral Home, Boaz is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10 until service time at the church. Mrs. Stricklend was born in Alabama on March 12, 1932 to C.T. & Thelma Armstrong Strange. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Stricklend is survived by her Son & Daughter-in-Law: William H. Stricklend III and Kaye of Arab, Daughter & Son-in-Law: Margie & Rudy Wooten of Arab, Grandchildren: Steven Chad & Lashae Thrower, Clifford Brady Thrower, William Adam & Haley Thrower, Ray Chadwick & Michelle Wooten, Katlyn (Mark Caldwell) Stricklend, Great Grandchildren: Ella Claire Thrower, Adaline Kail Thrower, Isabella Wooten and Greyson Wooten, Brother: Curtis Strange of Birmingham, Sister: Hazel Oakes of Florida. She was preceded in death by her Parents: C. T. & Thelma Strange, Husband: William H. Stricklend, Jr., Son: Stevie Stricklend and Brothers: Don Strange, Roger Strange and Charles Strange.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to First Methodist Church Arab, 1058 North Main Street, Arab, AL 35016.

I JUST NOW FOUND THIS AND AM SADDENED BY IT. SHE WAS A DEAR FRIEND OF MY WIFE WYNETTE (JACKSON) THOMPSON AND MY SELF, MILTON DEAN THOMPSON. WE FEEL FOR HER FAMILY.
