Betty Singleton Goodsell, age 82, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 5, 10 a.m. to noon at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The service will follow at noon with Reverend John McKell officiating. There will be a private graveside service at Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Goodsell was a graduate of Coffee High School and attended Queens College, North Carolina, and also served as director of the American Red Cross. She was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, The Sewing Club, and director of the Dyslexia Program.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons Nick Goodsell, Blake Goodsell, Bill Goodsell, Nathan Flippo, James “Trey” Stokes, Dean Moore, and Clayton Moore.
Mike Smith, Dr. Hampton Moore, Mark Spry, Jerry Leavitt, Kevin Wood, and A.E. Joiner will serve as honorary pallbearers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Goodsell Jr.; son, Mike Goodsell; granddaughter, Kathryn Jane Moore; mother, Marjorie Singleton Brown; father, Hugh Singleton; and brother, Hugh Robert Singleton Jr.
Survivors include Tim and Kim Goodsell, of Alabaster, Dan Goodsell, of Atlanta, Scott and Gina Goodsell, of Orange Beach, Dr. Hampton and Melinda Moore, of Florence, Jane Goodsell Stokes, of Florence, Nicholas and Carol Goodsell, Blake and Alice Goodsell, Bill and Kate Goodsell, Justin and Melanie Manson, Nathan Flippo, James “Trey” Stokes, Samantha Goodsell, Mary Claire Moore, Dean Moore, Clayton Moore, Lt. Kelly Fulks, NC United States Navy, and Edwin James Kefford, and Bailey Fulks; great-grandchildren, Corrine Goodsell, Caroline Goodsell, Claire Goodsell, Peri Lee Goodsell, Sara Goodsell, and Camden Fulks; half brother, Ed Brown; and six nieces and nephews.
