Betty Ruth Eastep, age 77, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Mount Pleasant Health and Rehab in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. Betty was born to the late Roy and Audrey Mattews Dugger.
Betty lived her entire life in the Mount Pleasant community, it was there she found her husband, raised her family, and attended church. Betty showed her faith through her generosity towards others, she would give someone the shirt off of her back. Further, she was honest and forthright, don’t ask if you didn’t want the truth. She was the type of person that appreciated God’s creations. She enjoyed spending time in nature and tending to her flowers, as well as her animals, particularly her dog Princess, whom only Betty could love. She was a loving mother and doting grandmother. Her family was her greatest priority. Betty was a long-time member over the years of both Beech Hill Church of Christ and Main Street Church of Christ.
Betty is survived by her sons: Michael (Kimberly) Eastep, and Scott (Beth) Eastep; grandchildren: Brittany (Toby) Potts, Quinton Thomas Eastep, Rieves Eastep, Lila Eastep, Philip Eastep, and Logan Eastep; great grandchildren: Megan (Hunter) Burnette, Chase Cole, Kaylee Hodge, Dacey Jo Hodge, Cash Cunningham, Rymington Cunnigham, Ivy Cunningham, Bella Hanvy, Grason Hanvy, and Abigail Hanvy; sister: Carolyn Eastep; Betty is preceded in death by her husband: John “T Model” Thomas Eastep; siblings: Berti Mai Clark, Marie Calvert, Jessie Grooms, Dorothy Henson, Catherine Pruitt, G.B. Dugger, and Raymond “Spud” Dugger.
The family will visit with friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. A graveside service for Betty will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2021 at Polk Memorial Gardens in the garden of Prayer with Brother Randy Kersey officiating.
Pallbearers: will be Randy Eastep, Stanley “Spunk” Eastep, Jimmy “Boo” Henson, Randall Pruitt, Perry Dugger and Wayne Dugger.
