Betty Marie Hargrove Watkins, born June 27, 1953, died October 4, 2024, in Florence, Alabama.
Betty was born in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Katherine Hargrove. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Tommy and David Hargrove of Lewisburg, Robert Hargrove of Georgia and her sister-in-law, Ruth Cook (Billy Cook) of Lewisburg.
Betty married her high school sweetheart of over 50 years, Dale Watkins, who passed away April 3, 2021. Together they owned Watkins Gun and Pawn Shop, traveled the world and loved one another unconditionally.
Betty was a member of Lexington Church of Christ of Lexington, Alabama. She loved her dog, Bub, dearly. She also loved cooking, fishing and traveling. Most importantly, she loved her family and her church family.
Mrs. Watkins is survived by her nephew, Keith (Allison) Cathey of Lewisburg; sisters-in-law, Janice Watkins Fagan (late Randall Fagan) of Cleveland, Ohio; Connie Newman (late Don Newman) and Pat Potter both of Lewisburg; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm at London Funeral Home, 324 W. Church Street, Lewisburg, TN 37091.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Watkins requested donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
