Betty Margaret WhiteBetty Margaret White, age 87, of Greenbrier, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024 at her home with her husband of 68yrs by her side.  Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 9, 2024 at 11am in the chapel of Austin and Bell Funeral in Greenbrier with Brother Jon Briggs officiating.  Buriel will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens, with Adam Adcock, Evan White, Avery White, Andy Ford, Chris Ford, Aaron Alexander and Mitchell Ridiner serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00pm- 7:00pm and again on Friday from 9am to hour of service at 11am., at the funeral home.

Mrs. White was born September 22, 1936 in Hartford, Kentucky to the late William Grigsby and Lois Iglehart Johnson.  Mrs. White graduated from Draughn’s business college in Nashville, worked for many years as a secretary at Ebenezer Baptist Church where she was a member for 42yrs.  Mrs. White also attended Solid Rock Baptist church for 14yrs.  Mrs. White was active and enjoyed being involved in Boy Scouts and was also a den mother in the cub scouts, and also, she enjoyed camping adventures.  She loved being a mother and loved her family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. White is preceded in death by her daughter, Margie Ford, sister, Judy Morrison and great grandchild, Lane Austin Ridiner.

Mrs. White is survived by her husband of 68yrs, Harold D. White of Greenbrier; son, Grigsby (Tom) Schlueter-White of Miami, Fl.; daughter, Cheryl (Kenny) Adcock of Ridgetop; 7 grandchildren, Andy (Amanda) Ford, Chris (Stacy) Ford, Heather (Aaron) Alexander, Melissa (Mitchell) Ridiner, Adam (Amber) Adcock, Evan White and Avery White; and 10 great-grandchildren, Alex, Abby, Izzy Ford, Olivia and Eleanor Alexander, Dakota and Baylee Adcock, and Travis, Dominic and Kolton Ridiner.

Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier is in charge of these arrangements.
