Betty Louise Kennedy Rose Betty Louise Kennedy Rose, born on a farm in Franklin County, Tennessee on July 12, 1931, entered into eternal life on May 21, 2020 in Nashville. Preceded in death by her devoted husband of sixty-four years, Charles Edward Rose, mother Georgia Mae Kennedy, father James B. Kennedy, Jr., and brother, James H. Kennedy. Survived by two sons, Charles Dennis (Elissa) of Knoxville and Glenn Benton (Barbara) of Nashville, and seven grandchildren: Matthew (Audrey), Amanda, Amy, Claire, Leah, Benton and Casey. Betty obtained her degree from MTSU and was a teacher for thirty years, most of which were spent as a much-loved first grade teacher at Decherd Elementary School, where her biggest joy lay in teaching young children to read. She was also a long-time member of Christ Episcopal Church Alto, where she served on the Altar Guild and mission council for several terms. She excelled at quilting and other artistic endeavors, and was an avid reader who gave excellent book recommendations. Mostly, though, she was known for her kindness and caring for others. Her passing leaves a painful hole in the lives of many people, especially her children, grandchildren, and other family members. There will be a private service followed by burial at Mount Garner Cemetery in Decherd, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
