Betty Lou Olive, 70, of Florence, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015. She graduated Central High School in 1964. She later attended Shoals Community College at the age of 50 where she received her nursing degree. She was employed at Mitchell-Hollingsworth for over 20 years. Betty loved animals and the outdoors.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 11 – 1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Olive was preceded in death by her husband, James William Olive; parents, Robert and Inez Jones.
She is survived by her sister, Bobbie Sue Jones of Florence; brother, Jim Robert Jones (Kathy) of Lexington, N.C.; nieces, Amy Whicker (Ladd) of Winston Salem, N.C., Ashley Scott (Brandon) of Kenly, N.C.; great-nephews, Landon Whicker and Seth Scott; great-nieces, Morgan Whicker, Emma Scott; numerous cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Jones, Rickey McKelvey, Jeremy Lovelace, Justin Lovelace, Grady Stutts, and Kenneth Olive.
