Betty Lou Harper, 88 of Bear Creek, died Monday, October 31, 2016. She was born July 7, 1928 to the late Benjamin and Maudie Arthur-Austin. Betty was a member of Bear Creek #1 Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville. She will lie-in-state Saturday at Bear Creek #1 Baptist Church from 10 – 11 a.m. , where the service will follow at 11. Burial will be in the Adjoining Cemetery. Bro. Kirk Cagle will officiate.
Betty is survived by her sons, Max and Kenneth harper; son-in-law, Larry Stephens; sister, Dell Horsley; grandchildren, Christy Carden, Nicholas Harper, Dustin Harper, Michelle Michael, Chad Stephens, Shawn Harper, Wendy Mathena, and Heather Speissegger; great-grandchildren, Brelyn, Emaleigh, Matthew, Samuel, Austin, Katie, Anni Ka, Nick, Carlee, Paxton, Brendon, Brian, Taylor, Ariel, Jordan, Chelsea, Madison, and Raylee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Harper; daughter, Marlene Harper Stephens; son, Harold Harper; grandson, Jeremy Harper; sisters, Sephyr Tinnon and Ernesteen Doris; and brothers, Quenton and Wendell Ray Austin.
