Ms. Betty Lou Harbison, age 81, of Arab, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Citizens Baptist Medical Center.
Ms. Harbison was born in West Virginia on March 4, 1939 to the late Thomas & Ollie Mae Turner Armstrong. Betty grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and moved to the Arab area in the mid 60’s. She worked as an RN for over 20 years primarily at Brookwood Medical in Birmingham. In her past time Ms. Harbison enjoyed reading and watching soap operas.
Ms. Harbison is survived by her son, John (Amber) Harbison, Jr.; daughters, Suzanne (Matthew) Spielman & Wendy (Dale) Bloodworth; grandchildren, Whitney (Tamaron) Bridge, Leanna (Chris) Ross, Brooks Malone, Reagan Malone, Sydney Bloodworth, Shelby Bloodworth; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Gayle Prosch. In addition to her parents Ms. Haribson is preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Armstrong, Jr.; sister, Barbara Compos.
Funeral services will take place at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 starting at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Lynch, officiating.
The family will accept friends prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. Due to current circumstances we ask that anyone attending the service for Ms. Harbison practice social distancing and wear a mask upon entry to the funeral home.
