Betty Lewis Montgomery – Obituary

Betty Lewis Montgomery, 70, of Lee County, Ga., died March 15, 2013, at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 24, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Tony Haefs will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

A native of Russellville, Ala., born to the late Freeman and Nora Lewis, Betty moved to Albany with her late husband, Carl J. Montgomery in 1956. She was a homemaker, a cosmetologist and self employed business form producer. Betty attended the Gillionville Baptist church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Crepe Myrtle Chapter No. 163.

Survivors include her daughters and their husbands, Lisa and Kirk Baxter, of Los Angeles, Calif. and Carla and Michael Goldman, of Columbus, Ga.; her grandchildren, Britney Larch, of Los Angeles, Calif., Carlton Baxter, of Columbus, Ga., Ian Baxter, of New York, N.Y., Montgomery Goldman and Joseph Goldman, both of Columbus, Ga.; brothers-in-law, David Humphries, Dennis Morgan and his wife, Fayrene; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Morgan and her husband, Billy, all of Russellville, Ala.

Betty’s remains will be interred with her husband, Carl, at her hometown of Russellville, Ala.
