Betty June Kirk, born on August 5, 1925, in Muncie, Indiana, to Sarah and Ira Bush, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at NHC Lawrenceburg. She was 99 years old.
A devoted member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, Betty lived a life of faith and service. She retired at the ripe age of 89 from The Summit in Lawrenceburg, where she worked for many years, leaving a legacy of kindness and dedication to everyone she came in contact with. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, and any type of crafts.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Kirk; son, Mike Kirk; and three daughters, Judy Kennemer, Janet Laws, and Sharon Stephenson.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Townsend of Lawrenceburg, TN and Brenda Elder (Jessie) of Savannah, TN; one son, Larry Kirk (Vera) of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sons-in-law, William Stephenson and Ronnie Laws both of Lawrenceburg, TN; fifteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2024, with Steve Seaton officiating. Interment will follow at Kidd Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN, surrounded by the family and friends who cherished her.
