Betty Joan Cole Treadway, 93, of Albertville, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 29, 2024. Born on July 17, 1931, to the late Jesse and Ona Cole of Kilpatrick, she was the youngest of 10 children and the last surviving sibling of her family. A devoted member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Sardis for over 24 years, Betty was a pillar of faith and love to all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Treadway and Darlene Malone (Terry); grandchildren, Melissa Davis (Jeff) and Melanie McWhorter (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Gracie Goble, Corey Goble, Blaine Davis, Garrett McWhorter (Katie), and Cullen Malone; and her expected great-great-grandchild, EJ McWhorter. She leaves behind a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Treadway.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Wayne White and Bro. Jeremy Burns officiating. The family will receive friends at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home on Monday evening from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Ms. Betty will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Pallbearers will include Terry Malone, Garrett McWhorter, Cullen Malone, Ryan Canfield, Bunky Adams, and Ricky Rosson; honorary pallbearers will be her nephews. Burial will take place at Kilpatrick Cemetery.
The family will be accepting flowers or donations can be made to Shepherds Cove Hospice. Betty’s life was a testament to kindness, faith, and the enduring bonds of family.
