Funeral services for Betty Jo Walker,79, of Trenton, TN are set for Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 2pm at Glendale Baptist Church in Glen, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 11:30am -2pm at Glendale Baptist Church in Glen. Bro. Jon Haimes will officiate the service. Dr. Jim Williams and Evan Gibens will deliver the Eulogy. Pallbearers will be Evan Gibens, Nathan Gibens, Ricky Gibens, Kade Walker, Jim Williams, Matt McNair and Tommy Gray.
Betty Jo passed away October 22, 2023 in Trenton, TN, at Trenton Health and Rehabilitation Facility. She was born July 29, 1944, in Memphis, TN, to parents James Nathan and Agirtha Hazel Hall Bizzle. She was raised on the family farm in Memphis, TN and graduated from Whitehaven High School. In 1963 she married John “Jackie” Edward Walker to whom she remained married for 56 years until his death in January, 2020. Betty Jo graduated from Beauty School, and became a homemaker who could do just about anything. An accomplished seamstress, she made everything from curtains to formal dresses. She was an active member of Glendale Baptist Church in Glen, MS, and she loved her church family deeply.
She was preceded in death by beloved daughter, Pallie Denise Walker Gibens, her parents, husband Jackie, brothers Earl (Doris Jean) Bizzle, and Bobby Bizzle.
She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Rene (Dr. Jim) Williams, and a son, Darrell Walker, all of Trenton, TN, and son-in-law Ricky Gibens of Corinth, MS. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life—Abigail Hall Williams of Nashville, TN, Annabel Frances Williams Anderson (Ryan) of Louisville, KY; Tyler Heavener of Corinth, MS, Kade Lee Walker (and special friend Paige Pennington) of Trenton, TN; Evan Gibens (Stacy) and Nathan Gibens of Corinth, MS; and precious great-grandson, Wyatt Evan Gibens. She also leaves behind many treasured friends and caregivers in Trenton.
Affectionately known as “Miss Betty” to many, she will be most remembered for her fierce love of the Lord, her church, her family, and for making the best scratch biscuits and fried chicken in the South. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Betty Jo Walker.
