Betty Jo Robinson Householder, 93, of Huntsville, Alabama, went to be with Her Lord on August 10, 2022, after a long struggle with cancer. Betty was born January 28, 1929, in Alcoa, Tennessee to J.B. and Joy Robinson. Her family moved to Etowah, Tennessee her senior year of high school where she met the love of her life, Ray Householder. Betty and Ray lived in Chattanooga, TN before moving to Huntsville where Ray started a job with NASA.
Betty was a wonderful ‘Mama’ to her three daughters, ‘Granny’ and ‘Nana’ to her grandchildren and ‘Gigi’ to all of her great-grandchildren. Betty never met a stranger. She was a devoted friend to many and enjoyed giving to others. She loved eating breakfast at Gibson’s BBQ with her friends and going out to eat dinner with dear friends. She loved everyone unconditionally and wanted to always make people happy.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Gibbs (Mack), Candy Cook (Stan), and Tina Smith (Jim); grandchildren, Mandy Weiner (Mitch), Jessica Mims (Kevin), Kyle Cook (Robin), Sean Gibbs, Kayla Deal (Trent), Lex Smith (Tiffany), and Nicholas Smith; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and siblings, Edith Moore, Hazel Imes, and Ray Robinson.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
