  Betty DyarBetty Jeann Dyar, 75 of Arab passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at her residence. Betty was born on January 13, 1948, in Albertville, AL the daughter of George Buel Smith and Clovis Loree “Jean” Duke Smith. She was a graduate of Fairview High School and was married to Larry Dyar on Dec. 16, 1966. She was a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Moulton.

She is survived by her husband: Larry Dyar; son: Brandon (Teresa) Dyar; daughter: Gina (Chris) Hall; grandchildren: Hunter (Courtney) Hall, McKenna (Jason) Griesbaum, Levi Dyar, Brianna Hall, Luke Dyar and Savana Dyar; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews; she is also survived by brother-in-law: Phillip Bagwell and her special caregivers: Telisha White and Jeanné Mayfield. She was preceded in death by her parents: George Buel and Clovis Loree “Jean” Smith; daughter: Tandy Yancey; sister: Debra Bagwell and brothers: Larry Smith and Joe Smith.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday November 3, 2023, at Warrior Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Ennis Stone, Brother Jerry Pike, Brother William McClellan and Brother Junior Garmon officiating. The burial will follow in New Canaan Cemetery, with Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be at the Church on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. She will lie in state Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice of Albertville and Betty’s caring nurse, Miranda and all the workers in the Dyar’s family business for all of their help during this time.
