Betty Jean Stults passed away at the age of 81 on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at her home in Mooreville. A lifelong resident of Lee County, she was born March 8, 1941 to Jimmy Lee “Buck” Fowler and Hazel Hunt Fowler. Betty worked as a seamstress for Hunter Saddler for many years. Since her retirement she has enjoyed sitting on her porch with a good cup of coffee and taking care of the family she loved so dearly. Whether preparing for big family celebrations, or a simple weekday supper, Betty made sure each family member felt important and cared for. She always made time for them and listened to what anyone had to say. She was proud of her kids and grandkids, not only for their accomplishments, but for the people they grew to be.
Betty leaves behind three children, Vickie Holcomb (Danny) of Mooreville, Tracy Stults (Jenny) of Mooreville, and Billie Rogers (Timmy) of Blue Springs; 12 grandchildren, Neva, Pennie, Scotty, Lynn (Kimberly), Timothy, Chris, Austen (Ciara), Angela, Allyson, Parker, Megan, and Booboo; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Mike Fowler of Brookland, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Roy Lee Stults; two sons, Roy Lynn Stults and Terry Stults; a granddaughter, Angela Pounds; a brother, Jimmy Fowler; and a sister, Jackie Hester.
