Betty Jean Pierce, age 81, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Centennial Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on February 2, 1943, in Maury County, Tennessee, Betty was the daughter of the late Robert Hardison and the late Mary Williams Hardison. She attended Macedonia Elementary School and was a graduate of Carver Smith High School. She dedicated over forty years of her career at Maury Regional Medical Center where she worked as the housekeeping supervisor before retiring. She was an excellent cook who loved to travel. She was a member of Burns Springs Church of Christ.
She is survived by her children, Bonetia (Monte) Howard of Columbia, Keith Pierce of Columbia, Deborah Anderson of Columbia, brothers, William (Brenda) Hardison of Columbia, Frank Hardison of North Carolina, sisters, Joann Lacy of Columbia, Loretta Hardison of Columbia, Freda Childress of Columbia, Gertha Sowell of Columbia, grandchildren, Roderick (Markecia) Howard, Charonda Polk, Naprecia Pierce, Xavier (Deanna) Miller, great grandchildren, Jaleel Howard, Jabrae Howard, Journey Malone, McKenzie Marlow, Tadairan Davis, Tamia Davis, Kemontreal Pierce, Demontreal Pierce, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Pierce, daughter, Stephanie Pierce, and granddaughter, Canesha Pierce.
