Betty was born in Carbon Hill, Alabama, and attended Carbon Hill High School. Her journey took a delightful turn when a mutual friend introduced her to a tall, gangly basketball player from Walker College. Betty not only swept him off his feet but also embarked on a beautiful journey of love, leading to their marriage in 1963.

Together, Betty and Ron loved exploring new places and creating memories through travel. Whether it was adventurous road trips or peaceful vacations, they loved soaking in the beauty of the world together – as long as it didn’t involve boarding an airplane.

Known to her family as “Nana,” she dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home. She was a devoted homemaker, finding joy and fulfillment in caring for those she loved. Her family was her greatest joy, and she took pride in creating a haven filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Betty loved her Lord Jesus Christ and her church family. You would often see her in the church kitchen, preparing meals or Vacation Bible School snacks. With her spunky personality and radiant smile, she brought warmth and joy to those around her.
