Betty Jean LaFever, age 87 of Elora, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born in Lee County, Kentucky, on March 9, 1937, to the late Robert Lee and Etta Bell (Brandenburg) Napier. Betty started her work career at a shoe factory in Crothersville, Indiana and later worked at Genesco, before ending her work career in food service as the manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken in Winchester. Betty enjoyed fishing, and when she wasn’t on the water, she was watching the fishing channel. She also enjoyed embroidery and working word search puzzles, as well as watching criminal investigation programs. Her loving and caring personality will be missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert LaFever; granddaughter, Linzi LaFever; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Napier, and Johnny Wayne Napier; brother-in-law, Leonard Snell; and sister-in-law, Sue Napier. Betty is survived by her loving children, Kevin (Charlotte) LaFever, Keith LaFever, Kim (Tony) Thomison, Kay Robinson (Lena McCord), and Kris (Melinda) LaFever; grandchildren, Tesha, Ryan, Monica, Macey, Matthew, Kahri, McKinzi, Tracy, Tori, Josh, Jessica, Bella, Anton, Brandon, Cameron, Brittany, Kendra, Brandon, Emily, Kaylee, and Austin; several great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Snell; brother, Bill Napier; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 18, 2024, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
