Betty Jean Hutson Carnal, 85, of Florence, Alabama and formerly of Muncie, Indiana, went home to the Lord on March 21, 2013. Mrs. Carnal was married to her husband Richard Carnal for 63 years. He preceded her in death in July, 2012. The Carnals moved to Florence in 2010 to be nearer to their daughter Janet and her family. They attended Woodmont Baptist Church in Florence.
Betty Carnal was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and a loyal friend. She was a faithful believer in Christ who modeled integrity, kindness and care to all who knew her. She had a love of learning which encouraged her daughters Janet and Peggy to enjoy and excel in school. Betty Carnal loved her God, her family, her friends and her home. She made every effort to live what she believed.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by daughter Peggy Carnal Barnes, parents L.D. and Esther Hutson, and her brother Don Hutson.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Janet and Randy McMullen, sister Joyce Hutson Pierson of Plymouth, Indiana, brother Joe Hutson of Sun City West, Arizona, grandsons Corey and Christopher McMullen, great-granddaughter Khloiey Hope McMullen, and step-great-granddaughters, Cayla and Ashley Williams.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 at Meeks Mortuary in Muncie Indiana and funeral services will be at Eden Church of Christ, Muncie, Indiana Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 12 Noon with burial to follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie. Pastor Jim Behrendt will officiate. Pallbearers will be Corey McMullen, Christopher McMullen, Joe Russell, Paul Russell, Ed Livingston, Ernie Hummell, and Evan Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Peggy Carnal Barnes Memorial Scholarship, P.O. Box 672, Ball State Foundation, Muncie, Indiana 47308.
