Betty Jane Turman age 86 of Sulligent, AL the Pine Springs Community, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024 in the UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Born May 28, 1938 in Sulligent, AL she is the Daughter of the late William and Maude Ballard Norton and the Wife of the late William James Turman. Jane had lived in Forestdale for over 50 years and loved her community where she made many lifelong friends. She was Branch Manager and Executive Vice President of Colonial Bank in Forestdale for over 40 years where she helped countless people in her time there. She was a kind, warm and loving woman that never met a stranger. She retired in 2005 and moved back to the farm in the Pine Springs Community. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She loved her family deeply and showed nothing but unconditional love for them. Jane always handled herself with grace and dignity. To know her was to love her and she will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.

She is survived by her Son, Jason (Teri) Turman, Sister, Dean Thomas, Granddaughters, Tiffani Lowe, Jessica (Evan) Orazine, Rylie Turman and Ashley Penny Caudle, Grandson, Justin Penny, Great Grandchildren, Ethan, Adalyn, Elyssa, Jackson, Manning and Annie, who all proudly called her Nonna.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, James Turman, Parents, William and Maude Norton, Son, Jim Turman, Daughter, Vicki Turman Whaley, Sister and best friend, Wynette Norton Mixon and Brother, Gray Norton.

Services held Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM from the Veal Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Guin, AL with Burial in the Wofford Cemetery. Greg Norton, Lee Lesley, and Evan Orazine officiating.
