Betty Francis Fehler – Obituary

Betty Francis Fehler, age 91, passed away on May 10, 2018 at Grandview Gardens-Redstone in Huntsville, AL. She was born in Miami, FL on April 22, 1927 to Floyd Henry Woolley and Mary Theresa Emmanuel Woolley.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Juanita Dunlop and Peggy Finch, both of Mobile, AL.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Leigh Fehler; brother, Floyd Edward Wooley of Mobile; nieces, Phyllis Myers McAnally and husband, Larry, of Alexander City, Kathryn Wooley England and husband, Stewart, of Mobile, Lisa Owen Hullett and husband, Michael, of Cullman; nephew, Floyd Clifton Wooley of Mobile; and numerous great nephews and great nieces.

Betty worked as a professional model, adored her daughter, and loved visiting her family and friends, and enjoyed dining out, shopping, theater, cooking, reading, and music. She especially loved and excelled at gardening and was the recipient of the Huntsville Beautification Board’s residential competition, and winner multiple times of Garden Club awards.  In later years, she devoted her time and talents to the improvement of mental health of young people, with special emphasis in the knowledge of mental health through the Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Huntsville (NAMI).

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Grandview Gardens staff and Amedisys Hospice for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to National Alliance of Mental Illness, Huntsville, (NAMI), 701 Andrew Jackson Way, Ste. A, Huntsville, AL 35801.

Memorial services will be held at a future date.
