Betty Bland GoldenIt is with great sadness that the family of Betty Frances Bland Golden announce her passing on September 13th at 11:22 AM. She was born in September 1944 and attended Walker County Public Schools in Dora Alabama. She was married to her husband Lynn for more than 45 years. Betty was actively involved in community groups. She loved to travel, was an avid reader, and an exceptional craft artist. Her cooking will be missed by everyone, but her recipes will unite families for years to come.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Lynn; children, Jeff, Scott, and Susan; grandchildren, Travis, Brittany, Kristina, Garrett, Keighly, Jillian, Christopher, and Carson; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Elijah, Luke, Freyia, Astrid, Kensleigh, Natalie, and Clay; siblings, Joann and Wayne and numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:00pm. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 Saturday the 18th of September at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home in Dora, Alabama. A graveside service will immediately follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers Robert, Arthur, Jeff, Scott, Travis, and Garrett along with honorary pallbearers Wayne and Christopher will take Betty to her final resting place.

A celebration to honor a life lived to the fullest will take place at Beaver Brook Golf and Country Club Sunday September 26th at 2:00 in Knoxville, TN.

Memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
