Betty Floyd – Obituary

Betty Floyd, 72, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility. A lifelong resident of Lee County, she was born August 6, 1945 to Luther and Annie Gray Stacks. Betty worked as a seamstress for Reed Manufacturing for many years and was a faithful member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God. She loved being outdoors whether fishing or feeding the ducks on Sunday afternoons. She also loved special family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at 2 pm Saturday at the Lee Memorial Chapel with Bro. Merle Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Keyes Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Betty is survived by her 2 sons, Brandon Floyd (Amy) of Tupelo and Lewis Floyd (Chasty) of Corbin, KY; 8 grandchildren, Mandi Guthrie, Ashlee Floyd (Chevus), Tyler Floyd, Beth Floyd, Courtney Coley (Jessie), Michael Edwards, Carson Floyd and Cooper Floyd; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, Sammie Floyd; a daughter, Sandi Edwards; 2 brothers, Will T. Stacks and L.C. Stacks; and 2 sisters, Jewel Parker and Ruby Dunaway.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Pernell, Chevus Hall, Tyler Floyd, Earnest Guthrie, Matthew Sheffield, and James Parker
