Betty Faye Parrish Mims – Obituary

Betty Faye Parrish Mims, 66, Russellville, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at her residence.

She is survived by children, Lisa Mims Lane (Danny), Theressa Mims Bearden, Johnnie Faye Mims Brazell (Joll), Shelia Sutton, and Raymond (Brenda) McKinney; other children of her heart whom she raised; grandchildren, Jonathon Entrekin, William “Wee Wee” and Melody Lane, Bethany and William Nulph, Jake Bearden, Donovan and Kimmy Brazell, Kaleyonna and Austin Miller, Kaleb Bearden, Merissa Brazell, Shandi and Kim Gardner, Chelsey Gardner, D.J. Kimbrough, Gloria McKinney, Thomas McKinney, and Heather Mims; great-grandchildren, Gracie Entrekin, Brooke Entrekin, Robbie Lane, Anna Nulph, Sunny Snoddy, Kiser and Stormy Campbell, Maleah Duke, Phillip and Kitty Duke, Maddie, Kimberly, and Raymond McKinney, and Landon McClellan; siblings, Foy Parrish, Floyd Parrish, and Curtis Parrish; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Diane Mims; special lifetime friend, Betty Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Mims, parents, Thomas and Irene Parrish, sisters, Myrtle McKinney, Lorene Portik, and Josie Sutton Borden, and brothers, Junior Parrish, Audrey Parrish, Elbert Parrish, Theo Parrish, Jimmy Parrish, and Odell Parrish.

The pallbearers will be Jonathon Entrekin, Willie Lane, Donovan Brazell, Jake Bearden, Kaleb Bearden, Austin Miller, William Nulph, D.J. Kimbrough, and Thomas McKinney.

The visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Spry Memorial Chapel, with burial following at Dempsey Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Keesha Lindley and staff of North Alabama Hospice for the love and care shown towards our family. Also, a special thanks to the many friends and relatives who have brought food, offered kind thoughts and prayers to our family in our time of loss. Thank you all so much.
