Betty Faye Hawkes, 73, died Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Sanctuary Hospice House surrounded by her family. Betty was born on May 01, 1951 in Tupelo to the late WO Warren and Beatrice Christopher Warren. Betty was a life-long Lee county resident living in Nettleton and Tupelo. She was the owner and operator of The Market Basket for over 25 years that was located at crosstown. She was a hard working lady that provided for her family and friends. She would help anyone in need at any time. Betty really loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She loved to travel and enjoyed going to the casinos to relax and have fun.

A service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at 4 PM with Clinton Worthey officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 4-6 PM at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo and on Tuesday from 3 PM until service time. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Nettleton. Betty is survived by her husband, Harold Hawkes; her sons, Daryl McCaine (Sherrie), and Stacy McCaine (Felicia); her daughter, Kendall Boren (Destin); 12 grandchildren and their families; 24 Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Luther Thomas McCaine, Jr.; the fathers of her children, Tommy McCaine and Kenneth Boren; brothers, Buddy Warren, William Oscar Warren, Vic Warren, and Guy Wayne Warren; and sisters, Sarah Lacaze and Doris Williams.
