Betty Doris Sullivan Forsythe

Betty Doris Sullivan Forsythe, age 85, passed from this life Monday November 8. 2021 at Cookeville Regional Hospital from an extended illness. A Van Buren County native, Betty was born on March 2, 1936 to the late Walter Lee and Novella Greene Sullivan.  Betty was a member of Spencer Church of God of Prophecy and retired from USA Enterprises in Spencer. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-nine years Willard G. Forsythe, brothers; Alton, Dan and Johnny Sullivan, sisters; Lou Dean Martin, Sue Rigsby and Shirley Clendenon, son-in-law; Jim Wurm.

Betty is survived by her loving family; Marty (Donna) Forsythe of Sparta, daughters; Rhonda Wurm of Spencer and Kim (James) Creasy of Spencer, sister; Vella (Dan) Sellars of Spencer, grandchildren; Jonathan Wurm, Leah (Josh) Neal, Megan (Matt) Grindstaff, Sarah (Bryan) Hickerson, Amy (T.J.) Whittaker, Emily (Avery) McGinness, Jennifer and Jessica Barnett, great-grandchildren; Alexander Neal, Sophia Neal, Adalynn, Rylan and Remy Grindstaff, Haley, Wyatt, Owen and Knoxlyn Whittaker, McKenna Barnett, Donald Mackie, Harper and Maverick McGinness, sisters of the heart; Joene Wilson and Roberta Long. Many nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Friday November 12, 2021 at 2:00pm, in the Layne Chapel, with Bro. Jordon Jared and Bro. Freddie Harding officiating.  Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation times are Thursday 4:00pm to 9:00pm and Friday 9:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.
