Betty D. Finley, 83, of Florence, or Nana as she was known to her family, passed away at North Alabama Medical Center on Monday evening June 3rd.  Betty was retired from Suntrust Bank where she spent many years as a drive-through teller at the North Florence branch with her dear friend Gloria Robinson.  She also served in the Harlan Elementary School cafeteria where her two sons attended.  She was a faithful member of Northwood United Methodist.

Visitation will be Friday, June 7, 2024, from noon to 2pm at Greenview Memorial Chapel on Old Chisolm Rd.  The service will be led by Rev. Dr. Yohan Hong at 2pm.  Graveside service immediately following.

She was preceded in death by parents, Robert Dunmoyer and Elizabeth Dunmoyer; brother, Robert Dunmoyer.

Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years and faithful caretaker, Jerry Finley, Sr; sons, Jerry Finley, Jr. (Jill) and Jeff Finley (Annette); grandchildren, Derek Finley (Emma) and Hope Warren (Toby); great grandchildren, Easton Warren, Cruz Warren, and Harper Rose Finley.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Finley, Jr., Jeff Finley, Derek Finley, Toby Warren, Bill Finley, Jr., and Darren Potts.

The family wants to acknowledge the compassionate care received at NAMC by Dr. Mitchell & staff, and nurses Presley and Anna Sue in CCU as Betty  “walked through the valley of the shadow of death” (Psalm 23).

Betty’s passion in life was her family.  Even though her physical condition made it difficult, she was determined not to miss a great grand’s ball game nor a chance to greet them when they got off the school bus.  When her sons visited on a weekend, no doubt she was going to make them a full southern breakfast.  “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her” (Proverbs 31).
