Betty Crocker Williamson, born February 19, 1935, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday June 15, 2017. She is survived by her husband Herb, two sons, Sam (Paula); James; and one daughter Linda Bruner (Byron). She was a grandmother to four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was a resident of the Bagley community, a true coal miner’s daughter, a devoted and blessed stay at home mother, the youngest of seven children, and a perfect pastor’s wife. Betty was patient, kind, and a loving mother; a dedicated grandmother, loved and welcomed all children, enjoyed cooking, canning, cross stitching, and was an avid sports fan. She loved the United Methodist Church and was a member of Birmingham First UMC. She was married for 58 years to Herb, whom she claimed was “mine from the first time I saw him”, even up to the last day of her life. They served several churches in the North Alabama Conference for 45 years.
Visitation will be held Saturday at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home in Dora, Alabama, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Service will be Sunday June 18, 2017 at First United Methodist Church downtown Birmingham at 2:00 pm. Rev. Keith Thompson, Rev. Alan Head, and Rev Herb Robertson will officiate. Burial will follow at 4:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Gardens in Dora, Alabama. Family will receive visitation from friends in the Fellowship Hall at the church from 1:00 pm until 2:00pm.
