Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Betty Ann (Strickland) Prestriedge went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2021, at the age of 85.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years, Waymon C. Prestriedge; and her parents: Winnie (Bilton) Strickland and Raymond W. Strickland; Lonnie Williams, O.Z. (Wallace) Strickland, Marilyn Bohanna, (Lloyd), and Judy Campbell. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Angela K. (Prestriedge) Collier, (A. J. Frain) and Nancy E. (Prestriedge) Knight, (John); grandchildren: Christi S. (Knight) Hamblin and Chelsea L. Knight; great-grandchild: Landon S. Hamblin; sister: Patrica (Williams) Wilson, (Don), brothers and sisters: Jim Wallace, (Patricia), Wade (Tex) Wallace, (Diann), Bobbie (Wallace) Mosley; Rob D. Collier’s Family; Godchildren: Renee (Wheeler) Mathieu, (James) and Arissa Wheeler; Sue and Louis Connor and Rodney Wheeler; Nieces & Nephews in Dallas,Texas and many other family & friends.
Betty was born in Cleburne, Texas, and moved to Huntsville, AL in 1972. She was a bright, beautiful, vibrant, loving woman who loved the Lord. She enjoyed watching Alabama football every Saturday, never met a stranger, and was loved by many. Betty attended Highlands Baptist Church and First Baptist of Meridianville. She was a resident of Merrill Gardens and HarborChase of Huntsville.
A visitation will be held at 11 am -1 pm, on Saturday, November 20 (before AL Game), at Spry Funeral Home; 2411 Memorial Parkway NW, Huntsville, AL 35810. She will be laid to rest at Restland Funeral Home (Date & Time to be determined); Dallas, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Autism Society of Alabama (Huntsville) or Comfort Care Hospice of Huntsville.
