Betty Ann Reed, 80, formerly of Hartselle, passed away at her home on September 9, 2013. Her beautiful soul, kind heart, and lively spirit will be missed by all who were touched by her life.
Betty was born in Hokes Bluff, Alabama, on March 2, 1933. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Reed of Raleigh, North Carolina, and a large and loving extended family. She was the daughter of Ernest and Annie Mae Smith. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Milton Reed; her son, Richard Reed; sisters, Jeanette Landers and Nina Cassidy; and brother, T.W. Smith.
In addition to being a loving wife and caring mother, Betty shared her compassionate and tender heart by serving as a teacher’s assistant for special needs children at Crestline Elementary School from 1978 to 1985.
A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church in Hartselle on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. The family will receive guest following the service and will conclude at 1:30 p.m. A committal service and burial will be held at Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden at 3 p.m.
