Betty Ann Hooie, 60, of Anderson died Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Athens Limestone Hospital.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Rogersville Church of Christ, with Alex Bayes and Windell Gann officiating. Mrs. Hooie will lie in state from 2-3 at the Church. Burial will be at Civitan Cemetery.
Betty Ann was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, “nana”, and friend. She was a member of Rogersville Church of Christ. She was co-owner of Homesteads and employed many years at Elgin Foodland.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 40 years Steve Hooie; daughter Stephanie Lee and husband Shane; sons Daniel Hooie and wife Katie L. and Tyler Hooie; brothers James Albert McConnell and Freddie Dale McConnell, Sr.; grandchildren Maggie Hooie, Anna Kate Hooie, Carley Hooie, Sophie Hooie, and Abbie Lee; several nieces and nephews who were like her own children.
Pallbearers will be Randy McConnell, Mark McConnell, Kevin McConnell, Freddie McConnell, Jr., Jonathon McConnell, and Jesse McConnell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to SCOPE 310-Conner Center in memory of Mrs. Betty Hooie. The donations can be sent to SCOPE 310 Authority-The Conner Center at 4129 Helton Drive Florence, Alabama 35630.
