Betty Ann Ladner Douthit

Betty Ann Ladner Douthit, age 85, Sheffield, died Monday, July 15, 2024. Her family will receive friends Friday, July 19, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Chad Holder officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.

Until her illness, Betty was a very active member of First Baptist Church, Sheffield. She was the Sunday School teacher for the five-year-olds for more than twenty-five years. She worked at the Colbert County Circuit Clerk’s office for more than twenty-five years. When she retired, Betty took care of her husband, Robert Douthit.

Survivors include her children, Donna Douthit Wilson (Harry), Deanna Douthit Thomas (David), and Robert Daniel “Danny” Douthit (Kim); brother, David Ladner; sister, Judy Robinson; grandchildren, William “Todd” Wilson (Laura), Ashlee Larkin Wilson, Cora Elizabeth Frederick (Trent), Cody Lake Thomas (Phoebe), Jake Alan Thomas, Hannah Faith Thomas, and Donald Eugene “Tré” Srygley, III (Lexie); nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Mark McLeary, Mark Ladner, Miles Ladner, Ridge Ladner, Tim Self, and John McElroy.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Memories Unit staff at Florence Nursing and Rehab.
