Farris Clark, passed away on February 8, 2024, at NHC-Transitional Care in Columbia, Tennessee. She was born on May 6, 1950, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, to Howard Edward “Doc” Farris and Peggy Marie Russell Farris.
Bettilynn dedicated over 30 years of her life as an educational assistant at Mount Pleasant Elementary, touching the lives of countless students and earning the affectionate nickname “The CEO”. She also worked at South Central Bell where she earned the nickname “Operator 123.” She cherished annual trips to the beach with her family and was renowned for her vibrant personality, earning her the title of the life of the party. Bettilynn’s warmth extended to all; she welcomed friends and strangers alike with open arms. She was also a long time member of The First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.
A dancer and reader, Bettilynn’s zest for life was contagious. She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Roy “Oscar” Clark, her children Jeff Clark (Gayla) and Leigh Ann Hill (Chris), and her cherished grandchildren: Clark Hill, Katie Hill, A.J. Clark, and Ella Clark. She is also survived by her siblings: Norma “Sis” Farris Goatz (Mike), Barbara “Bob” Travis (David), William Farris, Steve Farris (Sherrie), and Gina Farris, as well as sister-in-law Barbara Lindsey (Doug), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bettilynn was preceded in death by her loving parents, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Pallbearers for her service include Charlie Goatz, Marcus Albright, Jimmy Chatman, Tim Scribner, Ben Farris, Brent Farris, and Adam Lindsey.
Honorary pallbearers Susie Lindsey, Judy Chapman, and Micki White. Bettilynn’s spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 11, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. A service for Bettilynn will be on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM with a gathering at 12:00 PM prior to the service with Eddie Watson officiating. Bettilynn will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to Mount Pleasant Elementary School or First United Methodist Church.
