Bettie Lee Huie – Obituary

bettieBettie Lee Huie, 78, of Hazel Green, AL passed away Monday. Bettie was a native of Mayfield, KY and a resident of Madison County since 1962. She was a member of Mayfair Church of Christ and a talented artist, bringing Harold’s wildlife carvings to life with her painting. She enjoyed quietly helping others, travel, gardening, and spending time with family. She attended FreedHardeman University in Hendersonville, TN, worked retail for several years and retired from Parisian’s. She was preceded in death by her father, William Otis Jones, and mother, Lucy Lee (Byrd) Jones. Survivors include her husband: Hubert Harold Huie, Sr.; two sons: Bert Huie (Donna) of Hixson, TN and Doug Huie (Marianne) of Meridianville, AL; four grandchildren: Amanda Walton (Ian) of Huntsville, AL, Trent Huie (Jessica) of Soddy Daisy, TN, Emily Huie of Fort Smith, AR and Katelyn Huie of Hixson, TN; one brother: Eddie Jones (Robbie) of Mayfield, KY; one sister: Sara Jane Gibson (Wally) of Chattanooga, TN and host of nieces, nephews, greatnieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by a memorial Chapel service at 4:00 p.m. with Gary Bradley and Tom Russell officiating, Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, or the Mayfair Church of Christ Cuban Ministry.
