Bettie Jean Isaacks Mitchell, 73, of Huntsville, AL went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, May 31, 2015. She died at home surrounded by her children. She had been a long-time resident of Monticello, AR and Jackson, MS.
Born on January 28, 1942 in Shelby, MS to the late Woodrow and Vera Isaacks, she was one of seven children.
She was a loving mother and “Nana” as well as a homemaker and faithful member of Madison Assembly of God. She showed her love to others through her cooking and shared her love for God by publishing a cookbook based upon the fruits of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23)
Bettie was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lindel Isaacks and Jerry Isaacks.
Bettie is survived by three brothers, Wesley Isaacks (Joyce) of Cleveland, MS, Jimmy Isaacks (Eloise) of Walnut Hill, FL, and Donnie Isaacks of Juliaetta, ID; one sister, Phyllis Jordan of Harrisville, MS; a son, David Mitchell of Florence, MS; a daughter, Jeanette Colvert (Paul) of Huntsville, AL; and three grandchildren, Ashlynn Mitchell, Lauren Colvert, and Sarah Colvert.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Madison Assembly of God. Visitation will be at 11 AM followed by a celebration of life service at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, she requested that contributions be made to the children’s nursery at Madison Assembly of God, 1475 Hughes Road, Madison, AL 35758.
