Bettie Jean Feller, age 86 of Winchester, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. She was born in Winchester on October 27, 1936 to the late Lester and Ophelia (Perry) Neal. Bettie worked at the Franklin County Trustee office and then later retired from Tennessee Elk River Development Agency. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Charles Frederick “Pep” Feller. She is succeeded in life by her son, Mike (Janet) Feller of Winchester, Grandchildren, David (Natalie) Feller of Knoxville, Michelle Feller of Winchester; and sister, Sandra E. Neal of Winchester. A mighty spirit in a humble size, Bettie Jean was a strong worker who was a constantly uplifting source of determination and understanding. Helpful, pleasant, dedicated – so many facets to a hard-working woman who never let circumstance and obstacles stop her from what she wanted to accomplish. Admirable was her tenacity, and incomparable was her grit. As generous as she was hard-working, Bettie Jean always had money in her little red purse for treats. She loved her grandchildren and was a ubiquitous presence in their lives; wonderful memories across multiple generations were the direct result of her care and unyielding love. The loss to the people she loved and people who loved her cannot be overstated – she is greatly missed and fondly remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations to Isaiah 117 House Coffee-Franklin-Grundy County, PO Box 842, Elizabethton, TN 37644, in memory of Bettie Feller.
