Betsy Blair Pultz Hauser, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 10, 2013 in Moulton, Alabama. Mrs. Hauser was a resident of Decatur, Alabama, since 1956. Mrs. Hauser was born January 27,1926 in Millboro Springs, Virginia, the daughter of the late Albert Plummer Pultz and Emma Alva Lamb Pultz. She graduated Valedictorian from Millboro High School in Millboro Springs. Mrs. Hauser was a longtime member of Decatur Woman’s Club, serving as President and chaired many committees, meeting the needs of the community. She was a member of Dig N Delve Garden Club, serving as President, and winning awards in flower arranging competitions. Mrs. Hauser was also an avid gardener. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served in ministries and was a member of the Blanche Jones Sunday School Class. She also attended the Tuesday Bible Class, a community Bible study, for many years. Her loving commitment to her family and service to the church was central to her life. She was cherished by family and friends. Betsy Hauser was married to John A. Hauser from 1949 until his death in 2002. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Winifred Pultz, and Frances Pultz Heizer, and two brothers, William Plummer Pultz and David Revercomb Pultz, all of Virginia. Mrs. Hauser is survived by one son, Gary Hauser (Debi) of Ruston, Louisiana, two daughters, Barbara Miller (Chip) of Macon, Georgia and Teresa Quinn (Kent) of Decatur, Alabama and by 11 grandchildren, Brian Hauser (Lauren), Brent Hauser, John David Miller (Katie), Julie Miller Johnston (Kenny), Sarah Miller Taylor (Brant), Rebecca Miller, Stephen Miller, Emily Quinn, Adam Quinn, David Quinn, Jacob Quinn and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Decatur on Sunday, July 14th, at 2pm, with memorial service following at 3:30 pm. Reverend Don Hass and Reverend Chip Miller will officiate and Peck Funeral Home will be directing services. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will immediately follow at Decatur City Cemetery.
