Beth Skelley Profile PhotoBeth Skelley peacefully entered her heavenly home on the morning of Friday, October 13, 2023, in Jackson, Tennessee.

She was born on August 2, 1930, in Paris, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Dudley Barton and Dora Lone Brisendine Mann.

Beth was, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend that will be fondly remembered for her sweet smile and loving nature. She had a heart full of love and always put her family first. Her genuine care for others touched the lives of many. Beth’s nurturing spirit was evident in everything she did. She found joy in cooking and caring for her family and was well-known for her delicious Banana Pudding and homemade canned Jellies and Pickles. The Thanksgiving and Christmas meals were always special times for her as the whole family gathered to celebrate. She was a long-time member of North Jackson Church of Christ of Jackson, TN and was the school secretary at Pope Elementary for over fifteen years.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Carden and husband Glynn of Jackson, TN; her sons, Joe Skelley and wife Jana-Lynn of Germantown, TN and Stephen Skelley and wife Lynn of Murfreesboro, TN hold dear the moments spent with their mother. Beth leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren Trevor Skelley and wife Ashley of Germantown, TN,, Ryan Skelley and wife Hannah of Rockvale, TN, Blake Carden of Jackson, TN, Ben Carden and wife Katie of Apison, TN, Tara Burrows and husband Phil of Germantown, TN, Brittany Smith and husband Brandon of Culleoka, TN, and Sarah Smith and husband Brian of Mt. Juliet, TN.

The joy continued to multiply with the arrival of great-grandchildren, Jonah Smith, Caroline Carden, Avery Smith, Ward Burrows, Griffin Skelley, Weston Smith, Mae Skelley, Madden Carden, Roselyn Burrows, and Grayson Skelley. Their presence brought immense happiness into her life.

Beth was also loved by her sisters-in-law, Norma Davidson of Paris, TN, Barbara Skelley of Paris, TN, and Celia Skelley of Jackson, TN.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene “Gene” Skelley in 2021, and three siblings, Joe Mann, Earl Mann and Jane Gooch.

SERVICES: A funeral service celebrating Beth’s life will take place on Monday, October 16, 2023, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with David Powell, minister officiating.  The burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery

The family will receive friends on Monday, beginning at 12:00 p.m. and continuing until the service at 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Trevor Skelley, Ryan Skelley, Blake Carden, Ben Carden, Phil Burrows, Brandon Smith and Brian Smith.

The family wishes to extend a special “Thank You” to Paula Johnston Rizor for the many months of care she gave to Beth as well as the Regency Memory Care for their support and love.

Beth leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire generations to come.
