Bessie Lou Young, 78, of Waterloo, passed away, Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The Funeral Service will be Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights with Wayne Gean officiating. Burial will be at Central Heights Community Cemetery.
Bessie enjoyed working on the farm, tending to her cows, working in the yard, taking care of her rose bushes, and spending time with her grandbabies. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Robert Young; daughter, Lisa Renee Scott; sister, Mable Keeton; brother, David Brown.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Woods (Randall); sisters, Dorothy Sharp and Margaret Smith; grandchildren, Monica Whitney Arnett (Craig), Destinee Barnes (Austin), Tia Beth Parrish (Derek), Carly Kelley (Bradley);great grandchildren, Brodie and Beau Parrish, Maddox and Maverick Kelley, Caroline and Callie Mae Arnett, Josie Reece Barnes, and one on the way; special friend, Will Hollis; host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be, Charles Jones, Will Hollis, Keith Scott, Marty McGee, Welsey Frazier, and Ronnie Perry. Honorary pallbearer will be Roy Lynn Jones.
