Bessie Leona Bassham, age 93 of Martin, GA, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016.
Visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2016, 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. Her funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel with Rev. Harris Pressley officiating. Burial will follow in Barton Cemetery.
Miss Bassham was a native of Lauderdale County, but lived in the Washington, D.C. area most of her life. She was a retired supervisor with the U. S. Coast Guard and a member of the Tugalo Baptist Church, Toccoa, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ashford and Lizzie Bassham and five siblings.
She is survived by her sister, Doris Snyder and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Curtis Rausch, Casey Snyder, Mike, Steven and Raymond Swenton.
