Bessie Faye Archer Garner, age 85, the widow of Warren Garner, died Saturday morning October 29, 2016 at her home south of Henderson.
Mrs. Garner was born and reared in McNairy County, the Refuge Community, the daughter of the late Henry and Ruby Archer Washam (Nolan). She attended school at Refuge. She married Warren Garner in 1949 and they made their home south of Henderson in the Old Friendship Community since 1951. Mr. Garner farmed and served as the Veteran’s Service Officer for many years. Mr. Garner died in 2011; they had been married sixty two years. Mrs. Garner was a member of the Estes Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son Johnny Warren Garner and wife Carolyn of Finger and two grandchildren; Dina Garner McCorkle and Alan of Finger, Blake Garner and Amber of Henderson; one great-granddaughter Amelia.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 31, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Billy Joe Naylor and Roy Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at the Refuge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Sunday, October 30, 2016.
