Mr. Bertis Jones, age 84, of Arab, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his residence.
Mr. Jones was born on September 3, 1934 in Cullman County to George Cleveland Jones & Maude Landers Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sarah Maze Jones; daughters & son-in-law, Wilda Jan Malone & Ronald, Hilda Ann Ivey; grandchildren, Michael Leslie Jones & Kim, Jerry DeWayne Ivey & Regina, Amy Elizabeth Adams & Chance; great grandchildren, Tucker Lane Davis, Daniel James Jones, Dakota Stricklin, Jessie Stricklin, Emily Necole Ivey, Tailynn Delrae Campbell, Ivey Elizabeth Tulley; brother, Dewell Jones; host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, George Cleveland Jones & Maude Landers Jones; brothers, William, Loyd & Cleo Jones; sisters, Bernice Philpot, EvaDale Mosley, Venice Smith; son-in-law, Jerry LaWayne Ivey.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Rev. Larry Dyar & Rev. Junior Plunkett, officiating. Burial will be in New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will include; Michael Leslie Jones, Jerry DeWayne Ivey, Tucker L. Davis, Daniel James Jones, Keith Jones, Rickey Maze, Nathenial Maze, Jessie Stricklin. Honorary Pallbearer, Dustin Maze.
