Bertie Mae Martin, 85 of Athens, passed away on Monday, September 20th, 2021 at Madison Hospital. Mrs. Martin was born February 22nd, 1936 to Floyd E Self and Mary Lou Fisk Self.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her sons Terry Martin (Mickie) and Phillip Martin (Mary); daughter Joan Murphy (Virgle); Grandchildren Brian Murphy, Justin Murphy, Lance Martin, Tiffany Martin Wilburn, Chad Martin, Neil Martin, Jordan Martin, Cody Martin, Jordan Jones, and Jacob Jones; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Wade Martin; son Gary Martin; and her parents
Graveside service for Mrs. Martin will be Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Bottoms Cemetery with Brian Murphy, Tim Anderson, and Joe Barnes officiating.
Pallbearers will be Chad Martin, Lance Martin, Neil Martin, Jordan Martin, Cody Martin, Justin Murphy, and Dustin Wilburn.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Caleb Martin and Dawson Wilburn
Mrs. Martin loved her church and her family. She enjoyed talking to people and was a “prayer warrior” for all who knew her. She loved watching Hallmark Channel as well as working in her flower gardens.
